I purchased these same skates from a different skate shop back in July and, after a few months of the fit feeling off and experiencing a lot of pain, I made a last ditch effort and went to Cyclone Taylor to get the skates punched. Giovanni took one look at them and knew that punching wasn't going to fix the problem. He showed me how the skate was breaking in in a way that it shouldn't and how the blade was mounted incorrectly. He guessed that the skates were fitted improperly and that they were too big for me. To prove his point, he took out the insole and made me stand on it - it was a good half-inch bigger than my foot!
Now that we had identified that my skates were too big, Giovanni made me try on the same boot in a smaller size and, voila! The skates felt so much better right off the bat. He then took the time to heat mold them, apply leather protector on the bottom, and properly mount the blade. I've been skating a few times since I purchased my new skates and they feel so much better already! I'm not experiencing pain anymore, and the skates feel solid and supportive on my feet.
Not only was the customer service exceptional, Cyclone Taylor was kind enough to purchase my old boots off of me so I didn't have to pay full price for skates I had just purchased six months prior. They went above and beyond, and I cannot thank Giovanni and the rest of the CT team enough!
As for the skates, the boots are well-made, provide great ankle support, and look very sleek on the ice. As with any skate, just make sure you get them properly fitted!
