figure skates Vancouver Canada

From young STARSkaters taking their first competitive steps to high-performance athletes chasing national dreams, the skating community continues to grow stronger every season.

At Cyclone Taylor Figure Skating, we're fortunate to be part of a passionate network of athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and families who make our sport so special. The past few months have showcased incredible performances, inspiring achievements, and exciting opportunities for skaters across the region.

Recent Competition Highlights

The 2025-2026 season wrapped up with several major events throughout British Columbia and Yukon, including the BC/YT Section Super Series Final in Kelowna, the BC Winter Games, regional championships, and the Arctic Winter Games. These events brought together some of the province's most talented skaters and highlighted the depth of talent developing throughout the region. (Skate Canada British)

One standout result from the BC/YT Section Super Series Final was:

Gold Women Champion

Bryanne Thomson – Juan de Fuca Skating Club (Vancouver Island, BC)

Podium Finishers:

  1. Bryanne Thomson – Juan de Fuca SC

  2. Abegail Redekopp – Kelowna FSC

Across the province, regional championships in Vancouver Island, the BC Coast Region, Okanagan Region, and Kootenay Region also produced outstanding performances from skaters representing communities large and small. These events continue to serve as important stepping stones for athletes progressing through the Skate Canada pathway. (Skate Canada British)

A Strong BC and Yukon Skating Community

One of the things that makes skating in BC and Yukon unique is the incredible diversity of clubs and communities involved.

From Vancouver Island to Prince George, Kelowna to Kimberley, and Whitehorse to the Lower Mainland, skaters benefit from a supportive environment that encourages personal growth, athletic development, and lifelong friendships.

The success of skaters from clubs such as Juan de Fuca, Kelowna, Valleyview, Abbotsford, Prince George, and many others demonstrates that talent can emerge from every corner of the province when athletes receive strong coaching, support, and opportunities to compete. (Skating in BC Results)
